Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is adding to the Human Resources team! We are seeking a full-time HR Generalist in the Cedar Rapids area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple functional HR areas including the hiring process, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations.
The HR Generalist will:
- Coordinate the employment processes via the applicant tracking system, advertise open positions and source and review candidates. Manage all pre-hire processes such as reference checks, UAs, background checks, and the accurate and timely completion of all required onboarding paperwork in the HRIS.
- Administer health benefits via an online benefit portal. Communicate with employees regarding benefit enrollment or qualifying events. Partner with COBRA and FMLA vendors.
- Maintain employee personnel files to ensure compliance with licensure and accreditation requirements.
- Input information into the HRIS system including new hire information, wage updates and performance reviews. Generate reports from HRIS for use in monthly audits and on demand to support data driven decision making and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR Director on employee relations matters, performance and talent management. Communicate directly with managers and employees to interpret policy, address concerns and seek feedback regarding organizational processes.
- Serve as a member of the Safety Committee and partner with Work Comp vendor and insurance company.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, licensure and accreditation and recommended best practice.
- Review and update policies and procedures as assigned, complete special projects and initiatives.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two years of HR experience and experience with HRIS/ATS systems. AA or BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.
This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to pass an extensive background check. As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption.
