Arlington Heights Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. As our Lead LVT, you will play a key role in guiding our medical support staff and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for an experienced LVT who loves teaching, excels at organization, and is ready to take on a leadership position within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training & Mentorship: Provide hands-on training, coaching, and ongoing support to Veterinary Assistants and other support staff. Help develop skill sets, promote growth, and maintain consistency in medical standards.

  • Hospital Flow Management: Oversee daily workflow to ensure efficient appointment flow, timely patient care, and smooth coordination between departments.

  • Dental & Surgical Coordination: Manage the dental and surgical schedules and collaborate with doctors to support safe and efficient procedures.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels for medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment. Ensure timely ordering and cost-effective utilization.

  • Safety & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all team members follow safety protocols, OSHA standards, and hospital policies. Support a culture of safety for both staff and patients.

Schedule:

  • This is a Full-Time position with a 4/10 schedule. Availability is needed Monday-Friday and rotating ICU weekends (usually every 6-8 weeks).

Full-Time Benefits and Compensation**

  • Compensation: $25-$30 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Bonus Package: $2,000
  • CE Allowance: $500 for first year of employment & $1,000/year for every year following

Minimum Qualifications and Skillset:

  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician credential in the state of Texas
  • Strong clinical skills in anesthesia, dentistry, surgery, and patient care
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience mentoring or training preferred
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
