Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the required product quality levels are attained. This is achieved by continually monitoring inspection activity and leading continual improvement activities utilizing quality tools and methods.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares inspection and test plans, leads Quality related process improvement projects to support Armtec’s continual improvement efforts.
- Direct/coordinate product verification, customer requirements and contract specifications relating to the production and procurement process.
- Reviews quality problems, with Operations/Engineering personnel and direct actions to correct discrepancies.
- Oversees quality defect tracking and reporting to drive change/continual improvement in the organization.
- Identifies and understands quality provisions of the customer contract, specifications, and expectations.
- Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, schedules, rejected items, rolled throughput yield, and cost of quality.
- Issues corrective actions of deficient processes and follows up to verify corrective/preventive action effectiveness.
- Investigates manufacturing process/methods ensuring proper traceability is achieved.
- Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from upper management.
- Analyzes cost of quality and performance data to plan and deploy improvement efforts.
- Oversees and supports product internal audits and assessments.
- Assists with inspection if required.
- Understands and lives by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Knowledge of management systems for improving quality, i.e. benchmarking, project management, six-sigma, experimental design.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Must be able to obtain DoD Confidential Clearance.
- Knowledge of Government specifications, contracts, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Self-motivated starter with demonstrated maturity, a good sense of responsibility and analytical skills.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate. Have the ability to deal with people effectively.
- Must demonstrate an outstanding degree of judgment, organization, planning, initiative, flexibility and creativity.
- Must be a US Person

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Statistics, Manufacturing or Business related field.
- Five to Ten years of experience in Quality Engineering or comparable work experience.
- Good communication skills and high degree of integrity.
- Able to interface and work productively with all employees.
- Ability to read and write English.
