Key Responsibilities
- Support a mission-driven culture of high performance and member-focused service.
- Manage caseloads to resolve cases in a timely manner and maintain thorough documentation.
- Assist pharmacies and prescribers in resolving issues related to billing, claims, eligibility, and authorizations.
- Handle claims disputes and support the resolution process involving internal and external entities.
- Communicate CalOptima’s Pharmacy Management policies clearly to providers and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician in ambulatory, community, home infusion, long-term care, or managed care setting.
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician certification from the California Board of Pharmacy.
- Associate degree in a health-related field.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification.
- Bilingual skills in English and one of CalOptima’s threshold languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian, Spanish, or Vietnamese.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to multitask and manage projects independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexible to work evenings or weekends if needed.
- Must be able to sit, type, bend, lift (10–25 lbs), and use a computer for extended periods.
- Clear vision, speech, and hearing capabilities for communication and system use.
