ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage daily operations of residential homes in accordance with Arrowhead West, Inc.’s (AWI) corporate policies and procedures, licensing standards, CARF standards and other applicable legal requirements by performing duties to include:
Manages staff assigned with the authority to interview, recommend to hire, and terminate staff as well as guide, train, correct or redirect CLIs in the performance of their day-to-day job duties. Must be able to regularly exercise good judgment and make independent decisions on various departmental concerns.
Completes CLI job performance reviews for assigned staff.
Serves as the liaison for assigned residential services with day and case management services, and reports on specific residential programs to the supervisor. Coordinates community/social activities (inform staff and serve as liaison to civic groups) for assigned residential services.
Assures that staff fulfill responsibilities as assigned by client PCSP teams.
Reviews data collection, client attendance records, cash logs, incident reports, medication incident reports and other documentation completed by CLIs for compliance and reports to the supervisor.
Chairs monthly staff meeting and quarterly client management meetings for assigned residential programs.
Visits assigned homes on a regular basis at least 16 hours per week or 12 hours at MKD. Responsible for regular safety and cleanliness monitoring for assigned residences. Keeps supervisor informed of status of staff and facilities. Ensures appropriate maintenance of supervised facilities and equipment to include vehicles.
Assists at WKD & CKD and coordinates at MKD with staff scheduling and finds substitute staff for approved leave time. Approves grocery and supply requisitions, etc. Completes requisitions, maintenance requests and obtains bids. Approves timekeeping, expense vouchers, leave requests, grocery/supply requisitions as assigned (MKD). Informs supervisor of any concerns in these areas.
Provides orientation and training for staff. Assists with providing required paperwork for personnel files according to policy.
Ensures timely reporting of all worker’s compensation or vehicle accidents.
Submits reports to supervisor as requested.
Serves as a member of agency safety committee as assigned.
Reviews medication documentation and client checking accounts/personal cash funds on a monthly basis.
Serves as a liaison for residential clients and Case Managers.
Assists with recruitment, recognition and retention of residential staff.
Schedule will be Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. Includes evening and weekend hours. May include working direct shifts at locations when needed.
Position is scheduled for on-call duty.
Performs other functions as assigned by the supervisor.
SUPERVISES: Community Living Instructors (CLIs) at assigned locations/facilities

Education and Training: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school (60 hours of college credit) required or two years of relevant experience, preferably in a residential program, is required. At least six months of supervisory experience is preferred. Ability to work as a team with others effectively. Willing to work some evenings or weekends as scheduled by supervisor. Ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment related to position under general supervision. Ability to read and interpret/understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists (ability to handle and make rational decision with crisis situations that may occur within the residential programs).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license (safe driving record, Department of Motor Vehicles check). Required to obtain: First Aid Certificate, Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Mandt Certificate.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. May need to climb up/down stairs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds to transfer persons to/from chair to toilet, bed, bath, etc. May need to push wheelchair up ramp with 250-300 pound passenger. Successfully demonstrate ability to drive car/van.
REPORTS TO: Residential Manager (WKD & CKD) or Division Manager (MKD)
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Salary Range: $37,648 – 45,188 ($1,448 – 1,738 biweekly) effective 6/8/21 Exempt (executive) position.
