What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director of Development position at ASCENSION DEPAUL SERVICES?
Strategically lead and participate in the establishment of fund-raising goals in support of the mission and goals of ADSNO. Manages the annual fund-raising plan including contributions, income and expense budgets. Implements plan for capital and major fund-raising initiatives.
Develops and maintains personal contact with prospects to develop interest in major and planned gifts and provide information concerning the utilization of gifts with ADSNO.
Implements marketing techniques in conjunction with Executive Director of the Foundation, VP of Strategy and Director of Communication and the CEO that will create a climate conducive to giving in order to increase donations.
Identifies potential contributors to special funds and ongoing operations through examination of past records, individual and corporate contracts and knowledge of community.
Develops and submits grant proposals for funds from private foundations, corporations and government agencies. Researches public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify the potential sources of funding for research, community service, or other projects.
Plans and coordinates events and fund drives for special projects. (GALA, Golf Tourney, Annual Giving, etc.)
Supports and carries out a donor recognition program.
Maintains records of contributors and prepares and sends out all letters of appreciation and tax ID letters or supervises and coordinates activities of workers who do.
Functions as primary staff of the Foundation Board- housing and co-creating and archiving all agendas, minutes, calls to meet, etc. as needed.
Manages aspects of day-to day short and long term goals of local Grant funding. Authors some grants and reports as assigned and needed. Collaborates Grant accounting and management with Finance Department.
Must have a bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing or health related area. Masters degree preferred.
Must have experience in fundraising/outreach/development/grants for non-profit organizations. Must be capable of producing all support documentation needed for these processes. Must have adequate business writing skills for all duties required.
Must be able to work independently and make intelligent decisions based on information provided.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and preferred proficiency in Donor Perfect (Foundation Software). If not proficient at time of hire in Donor Perfect, proficiency must be demonstrated within the first month of hire.
Must have ability to appropriately approach our stakeholders and audiences both outside and inside the organization to reach our goals.
