Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal with 5 years of experience for its client's Miami office. Ideal candidates should have experience in chapter 7,11 and 13 proceedings to join their legal team.
In this role, the ideal candidate will provide crucial support to bankruptcy attorneys in preparing and managing cases involving individuals and businesses facing financial distress.
Responsibilities
- Type, proofread, format, and edit correspondence, pleadings, memoranda, agreements, and other legal documents under time-sensitive deadlines; may assist with drafting of pleadings and other documents.
- Prepare and file pleadings, briefs, and other court submissions using FileSite and other electronic filing systems.
- Open new client and new matter files using Firm software.
- Schedule appointments, depositions, and meetings; make travel arrangements; set up conference calls and video meetings.
- Provide deadlines to docketing; track deadlines; confirm deadlines are docketed correctly; if applicable.
- Prepare and submit expense/reimbursement reports.
- Open and route mail and email, attaching appropriate files and documents.
- Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation.
- Manage the attorney’s schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Bankruptcy law or commercial litigation, state and federal court experience (Pacer), chapter 11, creditors rights, representation, E-filling, notice of hearing.
- Experience working with managing partners.
- Familiarity with fundamental bankruptcy concepts and court pleadings.
