Master’s degree. Type A –EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION Louisiana Teaching Certificate. Additional criteria as established by the School Board.
EXPERIENCE – Five years of successful professional school experience, three years of which must have been in the last five years.
- Provides intensive and sustained support and improvement for schools receiving funds under IASA Federal Programs to increase the opportunity for all students in such schools to meet the state’s content standards and students’ performance standards.
- Provides ongoing, on-site technical assistance to schools planning and operating school-wide and targeted-assistance programs and schools in the school improvement process.
- Conducts in-service workshops for paraprofessionals, teachers, and administrators in methods of assessing the comprehensive reform and teaching/learning practices that drive instruction in schools receiving funds under IASA Federal Programs.
- Assists in guiding, revising, implementing, and evaluating current and long-range school improvement plans, in accordance with laws and policies governing IASA Federal Programs.
- Analyzes the design and development of innovative educational programs and research projects based on effective teaching and learning practices as well as on the basis of national/state trends, economic conditions, future needs and educational research findings.
- Designs staff development and in-service training programs including evaluation of such programs for administrators, faculties, and parents of schools receiving funds under IASA Federal Programs.
- Designs and provides training for teachers and support personnel to insure that students’ difficulties and identified on a timely basis and to enable the instructional staff to provide appropriate and effective assistance, based on successful research practices in teaching and learning.
- Assists in the implementation of instructional in-service workshops for IASA Federal Programs personnel and designated non-Title I teachers.
- Assists in preparing reports to the Supervisor of Title I as required.
- Participates in professional growth activities by keeping abreast of latest techniques and strategies on a continuing basis.
- Assists in the coordination of the activities of the IASA Federal Programs with the academic program to ensure coordination of effort and Federal program supplementation of services.
- Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Schedules and/or attends conferences with parents. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
- Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
