What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Ashley Regional Medical Center?
The primary purpose of this job is to administer and perform accounting functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles. Duties as directed by the Controller.
Duties
- Preparation and data entry of journal entries
- Prepare, review, and process documents to ensure timely payment and entries
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Complete the cash transfer sheets, transmit the funds timely each day, and resolve any discrepancies
- Audit cash controls across the hospital
- Provides assistance to controller and complete duties as assigned
- Accounting functions for month end close
- Track accounting documents and ensure accuracy at year end.
- Maintain an eFile drawer of documents

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Computer knowledge with emphasis in Excel required
- Previous accounting experience preferred
- Ten key by touch
- Type 45 wpm
