Job Description
This position will work within a multidisciplinary team processing payroll for assigned employees, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The position will also have responsibility for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of all HR platforms and systems.
The pay range for the position is $51,895 to $66,332. All salaried exempt positions are currently eligible for an incentive plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly, multi-state, and off-cycle payrolls for our restaurants and hotels, and other departments as needed
- Prepare, enter, and process employee payroll-related information while ensuring accuracy
- Responds promptly and courteously to all inquiries regarding payroll providing regular updates on outstanding items
- Position will be a point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, such as paycheck calculations, tax withholdings, and deductions
- Perform pre-payroll audits and error-checking procedures for bi-weekly payroll processing
- Verify all hourly employees submitted hours for accuracy; correct any discrepancies
- Assist in finalizing payroll file and upload for bank submission
- Create and maintain accurate and organized payroll records
- Audit payroll system monthly to maintain active employee records
- Ensure payroll compliance, this includes tax withholdings, payroll deductions, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements
- The position will maintain and update various HR systems to ensure smooth integration
- Ensures data accuracy and troubleshoots any system issues
- Responsible for the setup of new business structure paths in the HR systems to ensure seamless integration.
- Assists in implementing system upgrades or new HRIS software
- Provides training and support to HR staff and end-users on how to effectively access, navigate and use the various HR systems
- Develops user guides, documentation, and training materials to facilitate system adoption
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience processing payroll for a medium-sized company (1,000-5,000 employees)
- The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong attention to detail, is motivated to help others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a natural ability for problem-solving
- Strong sense of urgency to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Works well independently
- Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications

Supervision given and received
Supervision is given: This position has no supervisory responsibility
Supervision received: Works under general supervision of the Director of Payroll and HRIS. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements. No adverse or hazardous conditions. Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance.
