The Depot Support Technician will play a crucial role in supporting daily activities related to equipment management and shipping operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the inventory of raw materials, packing and labeling boxes, transporting them for shipment, testing computer equipment, and performing factory resets (Windows and Mac). The technician will report directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager and work closely with other team members to ensure smooth depot operations.

Position Overview
The Depot Support Technician will play a crucial role in supporting daily activities related to equipment management and shipping operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the inventory of raw materials, packing and labeling boxes, transporting them for shipment, testing computer equipment, and performing factory resets (Windows and Mac). The technician will report directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager and work closely with other team members to ensure smooth depot operations.
What You Will Be Doing
- Apply asset labels to equipment and maintain asset tracking through database entries in Oomnitza.
- Process returned equipment by cleaning and testing to ensure functionality.
- Maintain equipment and shipping supplies, including making and packing boxes for safe transport.
- Ship equipment to new employees, following standard operating procedures.
- Create shipping labels for computer equipment shipments and become familiar with the New-Hire Kit preparation process.
- Provide support for depot operations, including maintaining a presence on-site and assisting with various tasks as directed by the IT Infrastructure Manager.
- Friendly presence and a helpful attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use standard shipping tools and materials effectively.
- Good problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Professional demeanor with experience in customer service.
- Ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
- Knowledge of operating systems and application software to provide effective support.
- 1-2 years of work experience in a warehouse environment or an equivalent combination of experience.
- Familiarity with Oomnitza asset database, Jira ticketing software, and the FedEx portal.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a focus on listening and questioning.
- Ability to prioritize work based on department objectives and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in shipping computers, monitors, and peripheral devices.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently lift and manipulate up to 30 lbs.
