About the Role

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of multiple data center operations, policies, procedures, personnel, and associated building systems in a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure work is performed within established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Oversee the planning and operational elements of all company-owned and managed data centers and related facilities including, but not limited to, maintenance, repairs, and expansion.
  • Review and approve billing statements, expenditures, and audit processes.
  • Oversee the National Operations Center, providing leadership, guidance, and rapid response.
  • Ensure operational compliance with OSHA, state, local, and federal safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other executive team members in troubleshooting, analyzing processes and procedures, identifying weaknesses or deficiencies, and implementing improvements.
  • Define, track, and manage operations and cross-functional projects that impact different operations systems including reviewing and updating standard operating procedures.
  • Devise new techniques to expedite workflow, improve productivity, and improve operating environments.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with designated vendors and internal departments to drive the best long-term customer service and business results.
  • Confer and work efficiently and effectively with other departments to implement controls and schedules, resolve delivery problems, and help validate business, operations, and financial impact of large-scale data center projects.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Technical Operations in managing data center related contracts including negotiation of terms, rates, and post-contract vendor relations
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance including initiating and/or recommending promotions, transfers, and corrective action.
  • Responsible for the oversight of maintenance documentation and maintenance programs

Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with monitoring systems and automated software platforms

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in positions requiring the following type of work: vendor management; significant troubleshooting in complicated and complex mechanical and commercial electrical infrastructure; working with heavy equipment; adapting quickly to dynamic and changing priorities.
  • 3 years of experience in managing a minimum of 20 direct and indirect reports.
  • Experience with complex troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and personnel matters.
  • Other combinations of experience may be taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Experience with remote reporting
  • 2 years of inventory maintenance such as warehousing, logistics, etc.
