- Our clients range up to 9 Years old. Each client has their own treatment rooms and personal materials. Clinic provides highly engaging and motivating materials to include: Rock Climbing Walls, Playrooms, Swings, Water Play, Arts and Crafts Room, Arcade Room, Basketball, Library. Team ABCS conducts daily Circle Time for social interaction and participation. Our BCBA supervisors provide expert feedback and training.
- GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB-
- As an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) formally an Interventionist for ABCS the primary purpose is to utilize education and field experience to provide one to one intervention. The minimum requirements for this position is a high school diploma related expertise in any of the following, Education, Psychology, Social Work, etc is a plus. This position also requires valid drivers license for multiple clients and reliable transportation in addition to further certification as a Registered Behavior Technician with the BACB. Interventionist will support families in the Community (CBI) as well as Schools settings when needed. This position will require some interactions and support with family as well as trainings and coaching. Interventionist contributions to the organization should be conducted in an ethical and professional manner. Interventionist will abide by the RBT ethical guidelines and standards. This position will require a commitment to Autism & Behavioral Consulting Services mission. Interventionist will follow ABCS policy and procedures. Position roles will require leadership, demonstration of Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques and methods, as well as communication, dependability, and professionalism.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct client/patient individually and/or in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests using and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and methods that have been developed by the BCBA, BCaBA and consultants.
- Follows plans and prepares materials for sessions with clients in the home and in the community.
- Follows clear objectives for all programs and projects and communicates those objectives to families and clients.
- Makes sure to run programs routinely cycling through them regularly as written in the child's treatment plan.
- Meets the family where the treatment is needed, within a clinic setting.
- Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining the prescribed treatment/target.
- Meets with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and priorities for the student and their needs according to the treatment plan.
- Prepares students for advancement by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks by probing skills when requested by the BCBA, BCaBA and Consultants and discussing this with BCBA/consultant at workshops and or meetings.
- Observes and evaluates student performance, behavior and/or social development and documents accordingly.
- Assesses needs of clients and modifies antecedents and consequences or teaching methods to meet those needs according to the behavior procedures/treatment in place for that client.
- Conducts quality assurance audits and participates in committees and meetings to receive and report information.
- Demonstrates ability to lead and facilitate diverse groups of people with the understanding of group dynamics.
- Participates in professional training and/or coursework as needed and required per governing board, state law and company policy.
- Performs other responsibilities as needed.
- Conduct oneself as a professional in these roles respecting and following HIPAA/Confidential regulations at all times.
