Job Summary:
The Shelter Case Manager will support residents of our emergency shelter by providing case management, advocacy, and assistance in achieving self-sufficiency. This position requires a compassionate, resourceful, and organized individual who can help clients navigate their path to safety and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed case management services to shelter residents.
• Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized service plans with measurable goals.
• Assist clients with accessing resources such as housing, employment, healthcare, and education.
• Serve as an advocate for clients in interactions with external agencies and service providers. • Facilitate life skills workshops and support groups.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case files, including timely documentation in accordance with grant requirements.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a supportive and safe shelter environment. • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to residents.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and community outreach as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other vulnerable populations is preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and advocacy best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish professional boundaries.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and client database systems.
Work Environment:This position is based at our emergency shelter and may require some evening or weekend shifts, depending on client needs.
