Payroll Specialist
Location: Seattle, hybrid 3x a week
10 month contract
$30-35/hr.
Overview
The Payroll Services team supports payroll for thousands of employees and retirees across the U.S. and Canada. Using UKG Pro payroll and timekeeping systems, the team ensures accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations. The Payroll Specialist executes core payroll functions and supports timely, precise payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support U.S. and Canadian employees, managers, retirees, and third-party administrators with employee pay from hire through retirement
- Process payroll in UKG Pro following established procedures
- Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and timely completion
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with statutory and corporate governance requirements
- Ensure regulatory compliance and recommend updates to payroll documentation and processes
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, HR, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2–3 years of payroll experience, preferably with multi-state, union, and/or Canadian payroll
Required Skills
- Experience with payroll or accounting systems; UKG Pro preferred
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Nice to Have
- Exposure to payroll system integrations
