Overview
An exciting opportunity to work within the Project Management team at Avison Young. The role will be working directly with two Principals. The successful candidate must possess strong administration and task management skills, exhibit excellent organizational skills, demonstrate an eye for detail, and must thrive in a fast-pace, team environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing a life science operations, construction, or move project from start to finish, including:
- Establish Project goals
- Direct and oversee completion of life science projects to meet client needs
- Develop plan of action including schedule, budgets, RFPs for resources, and work plans
- Assess risks and establish contingency plans
- Manage work and inputs from variety of stakeholders
- Manage multiple projects concurrently
- Manage people, and be an effective communicator Provide Life Science clients with project management and life science operational support services
- Help develop business through local market contacts
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant work experience, or combination of relevant work experience and education
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management
- Familiarity with architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, SharePoint document management
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills
- Ability to understand all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, and Scheduling in order to fully understand project implications based on minimal conceptual information
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to provide excellent service to executive-level external and internal client stakeholders
- Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage to several key-point metrics consistently and successfully.
- Advanced proficiency in preparation and tracking of project budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to impact and influence to achieve desired project outcomes
- Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed
- Ability to proactively identify, mitigate, and track project risks
- Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
- Valid Driver’s License
- PMP, accreditation is an asset
