Summary / Objective
The Gate Operator Technician is responsible for installing and servicing gate operator systems as directed.
Essential Functions

- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs various and sometimes unfamiliar low voltage electrical systems.
- Installs gate operators and accessories based on manufacturer requirements and industry standards.
- Complies with UL 325.
- Uses various hand tools to install components including, drills, saws, grinders, etc.
- Programs systems on site and remotely.
- Installs conduit runs per drawings.
- Installs electric strikes, card readers, and related devices.
- Installs in-ground loops in both asphalt and concrete.
- Maintains company service vehicle by staying current with regular vehicle maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) and notifies Management of any vehicle issues.
- Maintains orderly stock on service vehicle and stock room.
- Reads manuals and conducts research to become familiar with systems.
- Professionally represents B&T Fencing, Inc. when working with customers and vendors.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. This position regularly requires long hours.
Travel
This position sometimes requires weekend work, overtime and travel. Employees who work overtime are paid time and a half and employees who travel overnight are granted per diem.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of related industry experience.
- Familiarity with installing and diagnosing basic mechanical systems.
