What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position at Balance in Behavior?
Looking for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work in Layton, Utah 1:00 pm - 4 or 5 pm Monday through Thursday. This position is open to current RBT's and individuals interested in getting their RBT certificate.
Registered Behavior Technicians work in the homes of families with children on the autism spectrum under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst implementing behavior strategies and skills training developed by the BCBA. RBT's are responsible to collect and record data on the child's progress throughout the treatment session.
The RBT should enjoy children and have an interest in teaching, psychology, behavior analysis, and/or mental health.
To become an RBT, there are a few requirements. All applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old to participate
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Complete 40 hours of paid training under the supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA, or BCBA-D
- Undergo a background check within 180 days of completing the RBT certification application
- Complete and pass the RBT Competency Assessment, which involves an assessor interviewing the applicant RBT in person, live via the internet, or through recorded videos (if not already an RBT)
- Pass the RBT exam, which consists of 75 multiple-choice questions that measure an applicant's understanding of the RBT Task List (if not already an RBT)
- Follow the RBT Ethics Code
