GROUNDS MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE
Shift: 8:30am-4:30pm

WORK SCHEDULES:
All positions at Baptist Village, Inc. include holidays and weekends as they fall within your schedule. Additional worked hours may be needed as workload demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred
- Experience with and knowledge of lawn care equipment
- Good physical health condition and pass a physical examination
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS:
Vehicles, trash bins, compactor, tractor mower, push mower, hedge clipper, weed-eater, chainsaw, saw, blower, edger, lift equipment, pressure washer, maintenance tools, other lawn care equipment as required, and other equipment as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Pick up waste/trash from various campus buildings, transport waste to the compactor.
- Cleans waste containers regularly and maintain the area surrounding the compactor.
- Operate waste compactor.
- Assist vendor with the removal of biohazard waste from the Jones Building.
- Mows grass. Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged branches or limbs.
- Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Rakes and bags or bums leaves.
- Cleans grounds and removes litter.
- Pressure wash buildings, sidewalks, and driveways as needed.
- Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Waters lawn and shrubs.
- Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. Paints fences and outbuildings.
- Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
- Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- The associate is authorized to have no access to resident health information as needed for treatment, or billing purposes, or the purpose of healthcare operations.
