Dance Instructor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Dance Education or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience.
• Minimum 5 years of dance experience.
• Complete knowledge of a variety of dance techniques.
• Ability to teach in any given class situation.
• Must possess current First Aid, CPR and AED Certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Shall ensure program activities are conducted according to all safety guidelines.
• Organize class and ensure that the program is of high quality, efficiency and safety at all times.
• Work is performed at a student driven pace, and may vary depending on the demands of the class.
• Develop and prepare a plan of dance focused activities suited for ages and abilities of the class while maintaining organized class structure.
• Choreograph, plan and implement spring recital and holiday dance show annually.
• Ability to communicate directions and skills to the level of the class.
• Organize and supervise specific activities for the skill that is being taught.
• Deliver quality customer service (to patrons and parents) at all times.
• Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the District’s safety program
• Uses allotted prep time efficiently.
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings with Recreation Supervisors as well as other staff.

HOURS:

• Varies with seasonal brochure based on classes offered and enrollment.

PAY RATE: $20-$30 per hour. Based on qualifications
