Job Description

BayLand Consultants & Designers, Inc. (BayLand) has an immediate opening for a Survey Technician / Instrument Operator to support our in-house survey capabilities for a growing and diverse workload of water resources projects. Experience with using Trimble Robotic Total Station, Trimble GPS, and Trimble Business Center are desired. High school diploma, community college courses/survey classes, and 0-1 year of experience preferred. Will train motivated individual. This position is offering a $1000 signing bonus to our newest team member!

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Utilize various electronic and survey equipment to assist in determining location and elevations of various features
  • Perform construction stakeout
  • Cut and clear brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chain saw
  • Carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, nails, etc.
  • Assist with hydrographic surveys
  • Keep survey crew vehicle supplied with equipment; clean and organize vehicle
  • Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors with occasional extended hours
  • Willing to work locally or travel within the state of Maryland
  • Must have an insurable driving record.
  • High school diploma with 1 year of experience, or community college courses/survey classes (will train motivated individual)
