This rewarding and fulfilling role will allow you the opportunity to become an inspirational, transformational, positive force in the lives of others. Shared lived experience in recovery from alcohol and drug dependency is welcome! *The Behavioral Crisis Center is Burrell's 24/7 “rapid-access” mental health and substance-use clinic, which is an alternative to the hospital Emergency Department (ED) for individuals whose presenting problem is primarily psychiatric and/or substance use (including opioid use). What you'll get to do: Participate in treatment planning with the other team members and client. Demonstrate core values through work that is person-centered, voluntary for the client, relationship-focused, and trauma informed. Engage clients in collaborative and caring relationship, using interpersonal skills, knowledge about recovery, and attitude consistent with recovery orientation. Provide support to client through validation of experiences and feelings, exploration and pursuit of community roles, conveying hope, celebrating efforts and accomplishments, and concrete assistance towards tasks and goals. Share lived experiences of recovery to inspire and support client by relating recovery stories. Describe personal recovery practices and help client discover recovery practices that work for them. Assist clients with identifying their strengths and personal resources to aid in their recovery. Understand and respect personal values and culture of self and client, recognizing how they may contribute to judgement and beliefs, tailoring support to meet the uniqueness of each client’s process of recovery. Assist and support client to set goals and imagine future possibilities; propose strategies for accomplishing those goals; support client decision-making strategies and help them to function as a member of the recovery support/treatment team. Develops, maintains, and provides information about community resources and services. Accompanies client to and/or attends community activities. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED Must have a valid driver’s license and a favorable recent driving record.
