Trusts & Estates Paralegal
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join its growing team in their Phoenix office. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with excellent long-term potential and a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Position Overview:
The paralegal will work closely with attorneys and senior staff to support a wide range of estate planning and administration matters. Responsibilities include preparing trust and probate documents, handling tax filings, maintaining trust account records, and managing client communication and case details from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and assist with gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns
Administer revocable and irrevocable trusts (pre- and post-death)
Draft probate pleadings and assist with probate administration
Perform trust accounting and reconcile financial statements
Maintain client files and financial records
Communicate regularly with clients and financial advisors
Meet an annual 1500 billable hour target
Qualifications:
5 years of relevant Trusts & Estates experience preferred
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate strongly preferred
Prior experience with gift tax returns is a major plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with trust/tax software (GEMS, BNA, ProSystems, etc.) is helpful
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Professional demeanor and ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members
