Diesel Technician - Class B Job Description

The Diesel Technician - Class B performs routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, refrigeration units, and other equipment. This role requires minimal supervision and involves working with a range of tools and machinery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, inspections, and repairs;
• Ensuring equipment is roadworthy by verifying licensing and registration;
• Documenting work orders through an online system;
• Installing, replacing, and repairing onboard computers;
• Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components;
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as checking batteries and lubricating equipment;
• Training and guiding junior technicians;

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong foundation in vehicle repair and maintenance, as well as excellent problem-solving skills. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, is also required.

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
