We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to provide comprehensive end-user support across both physical and virtual desktop environments.
The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of desktop services for personnel. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing desktop issues, recommending enhancements to improve system performance and sustainability, and managing network services such as DHCP, 802.1x, print services, authentication protocols, and policy enforcement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, secure, maintain, and update desktop environments to ensure consistent and reliable end-user computing services.
- Troubleshoot and repair desktop issues while recommending enhancements to improve system performance and sustainability.
- Manage essential network services such as DHCP, 802.1x, print services, authentication protocols, and policy enforcement to maintain a secure and standardized desktop infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support for local and remote personnel, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues.
- Monitor desktop availability and performance, conduct trend analysis to identify areas for service improvement, and maintain a self-service knowledge portal with FAQs and user guides to empower the workforce and reduce support demands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- CompTIA A or Network certification.
- Prior experience working in Department of Defense (DoD) or federal IT environments is highly desirable.
