What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at Belcan?
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant shipment of parts, components, subcomponents, and related materials.
Generate and prepare shipping documentation in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards, ensuring all required forms, labels, and certifications are accurately completed and submitted. This includes adhering to military packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements, as well as ensuring the correct classification, hazardous material documentation, and compliance with Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) and applicable DoD regulations for each shipment.
Experience:
5 years of experience in warehouse shipping and receiving, preferably in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing environments.
High School Diploma required; associate degree Preferred.
Understanding of logistics processes, warehouse management, and shipping procedures.
Ability to follow Client safety guidelines, and warehouse management system experience (SAP preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication, Excellent organizational and time management skills, Ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment where multi-tasking is required. Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is highly desirable.
Familiarity with proper packaging methods in line with industry specifications.
Previous Hazmat training or certification is a plus.
