As a Licensed Optician at Belchertown Eye Care, you will play a key role in helping patients select the right eyewear, ensuring proper fit, and educating them on lens options and care. You’ll work closely with both patients and a Master Optician to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards of optical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, and proper fit based on prescription and lifestyle
- Accurately measure, fit, and dispense eyewear and contact lenses
- Interpret and verify optical prescriptions
- Perform adjustments and minor repairs on eyewear
- Maintain inventory and place orders for frames, lenses, and optical supplies
- Ensure compliance with optical health regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Educate patients on lens care, frame maintenance, and proper eyewear usage
- Collaborate with an Opticianand office staff to support overall patient care
- Deliver outstanding customer service in a welcoming, professional environment
- Current Massachusetts license as a Dispensing Optician required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a licensed optician preferred
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, coatings, and frame materials
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer experienceskills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
- Proficiency with optical software systems (e.g., EHR, lens ordering platforms) is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, if required
