Job Location: DGLC - BENSENVILLE, IL
Salary Range: $13.00 - $18.00 Hourly
DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Cultural Arts Supervisor, the Music Instructor plans, organizes, and teaches music lessons for their instrumental specialty, is responsible for creating class curricula, demonstrates proper techniques, and strengthens students love of music.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain a safe, energetic, and motivational teaching atmosphere
- Instruct students on proper techniques for their instrumental specialty
- Instruct ages six and up using progressive lesson plans
- Ensure work area is clean before, during, and after classes
- Coordinate with supervisor to organize and schedule classes, activities, and needed supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of teaching children at beginning, intermediate, and advanced music levels
- Adequate knowledge of technique, music theory, and styles
- Ability to create lesson plans and curricula
- Comfortable creating age appropriate lesson materials
- Ability to motivate and energize students of all skill levels and ages
Background or degree in music highly encouraged, but not required
