## Overview
Berks Nature is seeking a passionate and energetic Assistant Preschool Teacher to engage our Nature Preschool children through meaningful and innovative learning experiences in nature. The Nature Preschool Assistant Teacher will facilitate immersive play- and nature-based, culturally responsive and place-based curriculum that reflects the needs of the children (cognitive, social, emotional and physical development), the standards for early childhood education, and the mission of Berks Nature.
## Duties
- Implement engaging lesson plans that align with the preschool curriculum
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for children
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities
- Manage classroom activities and ensure a structured daily routine
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and behavior
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions among children
## Skills
- Experience in early childhood education or related field
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults outdoors in varied conditions.
- Ability to communicate and work with groups in an indoor and outdoor classroom environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
## Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Required Education
-- High School diploma and 30 credit hours from an accredited college in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field OR
-- High School diploma and 15 credit hours from an accredited college in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field AND one year of experience with children OR
-- High School diploma AND two years of experience with children
- Clearances and Mandated Reporter Training required
