THE TEAM
Bessie’s Diner features an aviation-themed dining experience located at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville, Wisconsin. Open for breakfast and lunch, patrons will feel as though they have traveled back in time to a classic 1950s diner–from the vinyl-covered stools to the chrome-plated tables. Children and adults alike will want to feast on the gigantic cinnamon rolls while watching the airplanes through vast floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the runway.
THE PLAYER
You will sort, wash and return all dishes and utensils to food operations throughout kitchen and banquet areas. You will also expedite clean dishes and utensils to the cook line and other areas of Food/Beverage on an as-needed basis.
EVERY DAY, YOU WILL
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes in a timely fashion as they enter the dish room
- Soak and scrub dishes that require heavy cleaning
- During prime service hours, remain focused on designated tasks
- When your station is ready for service, see who else may need help with prepping and getting ready
- Keep your workstation clean and organized
- Practice safe knife handling; if training is needed, see the Chef
- Scrape, sort and load dishwasher
- Return all cleaned dishes, glassware, etc. to proper location
- Be responsible for basic preventative maintenance of dishwashing equipment and communicating with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef when something requires attention
- Perform trash removal as needed
- Perform other food preparation duties as determined by the Sous or Executive Chef
- Open/close the kitchen properly and follow the opening/closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen. Do not leave until a manager has inspected your station
- Have fun at work; leave baggage at the door; come to work with a positive attitude ready and willing to help create a positive experience for our guests

Requirements
YOU WILL BE GREAT AT BESSIE'S DINER IF
- You are at least 16 years of age
- You have previous kitchen experience (preferred, but no mandatory)
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The team player is regularly required to talk and hear. This role is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have non-slip shoes.
