What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor for Community/Mobile Services (Buffalo travel) position at BestSelf Behavioral Health?
Starting in 2024, newly hired Counselors in certain clinics/programs will be eligible for up to $5,000 in a sign-on/retention bonus! Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams offer fully mobile community-based mental health services, with a focus on intensive care, crisis support, and outreach, using a multi-disciplinary approach. PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) empowers individuals to gain a better understanding of their mental health issues and develop coping skills to facilitate their recovery. It offers a variety of classes, counseling, medical treatment, and life skills training. OnTrack at BestSelf is an innovative program for adolescents and young adults experiencing unusual thoughts and behaviors, offering care and support from a specialized team for up to two years. OnTrackNY provides services without wait lists or insurance limitations to individuals meeting clinical criteria

If you meet the following criteria, apply today!
- Minimum Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or CASAC-T/CASAC-P required.
- Professional licensure: LMSW, LMFT, MHC-P, CASAC, CRC, LMHC, LCSW preferred.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of common intervention techniques, common mental health diagnoses, substance use interventions and resources.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be familiar with community resources to be able to appropriately link clients.
- Minimum proficiency with Windows based software applications is required.
- Must have experience with Electronic Medical Records databases and basic computer skills.
- Must appreciate cultural diversity and be aware of cross cultural counseling issues.
- Valid Drivers License, vehicle in working condition (with valid inspection, registration, and insurance), ability to travel between sites, & Defensive Driving Course (only applicable for some of our community & mobile programs).
