What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent/Buyer position at Better Engineering Mfg?
PURCHASING AGENT
Responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager with procurement of materials and services to support our manufacturing process, customer sales process, and facility operations.
Typical Major Tasks:
- Responsible for following up on open POs and posting acknowledgement dates as well as promise delivery dates.
- Assisting Production with missing parts for job orders.
- Build relationships with suppliers/vendors to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to material or process specifications, and competitive prices.
- Liaison between Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve vendor problems.
- Ensure timely return of unused materials to vendors and receipt of credits, RGA/RMA process.
- Monitor semi-monthly cycle counts and participate in semi-annual physical inventory.
- Monitor demand and inventory levels to ensure continuity of supply.
- Ensure on-time delivery of purchased items, which directly impacts our efficiency and meeting promise dates to our customers.
Qualification and Skills
- 2-5 years purchasing experience
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent written and communication skills
