Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in a long-term care setting, assisting them with daily activities and fostering independence while respecting their rights and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and cooking nutritious meals.
- Provide care for individuals with dementia and memory care needs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, documenting care provided and any changes in client status.
- Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement to promote their well-being.
- Uphold resident rights by advocating for their needs and preferences while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in lifting and transferring clients safely as needed, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Travel is a must
Qualifications
- Previous experience in long-term care or a similar setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and memory care techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to cook healthy meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others achieve their highest level of independence.
- Must be able to lift clients safely as required by the role.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus.
- Reliable car required with current DL and insurance.
- DODD training preferred but not required
- Medication Certification preferred but not required
- STNA/CNA required not preferred

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
