What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Manager position at BHS Baptist Healthcare System?
Job Description: As part of the Supply Chain Services Department of Baptist Healthcare System in Louisville, Ky., and reporting to the Director of Assets and Contract Management and is responsible for the life-cycle management of system wide contracting activities to include the procure-to-pay process, identifying savings and/or utilization opportunities, system and/or facility specific contract negotiations, market share analyses, contract compliance and vendor performance. This position will also assist in researching new and alternative product selections, sourcing products within the vendor community, and assist in the management of business relationships. This position also supports supply chain and supply chain related activities within BHS’ various resource councils and committees. The incumbent supports the value analysis process and cost management initiatives to assure system-wide value is achieved and maintained. This position supports the strategic plan and system vision, and coordinates with all BHS entities to ensure successful outcomes. Must have experience in a healthcare environment with relative experience in supply chain management. A minimum of 2 years clinical experience and leading teams or processes is preferred. Demonstrated experience in advancing a genuine customer-centered attitude to the supply chain function, and the capacity to incorporate that philosophy in user-friendly services working collaboratively with clinicians, physicians, and stakeholders in an interdisciplinary service environment. Possess knowledge of contracting, negotiating, cost containment, medical/surgical supplies, equipment and services. A Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years direct experience in lieu of a degree is required. Must have experience in a healthcare environment with relative experience in supply chain management. A minimum of 2 years clinical experience and leading teams or processes is preferred. Demonstrated experience in advancing a genuine customer-centered attitude to the supply chain function, and the capacity to incorporate that philosophy in user-friendly services working collaboratively with clinicians, physicians, and stakeholders in an interdisciplinary service environment.
