Director Of Excavation & Materials Division

BIR Developments LLC is a progressively growing, financially stable, diversified company, who is currently seeking a qualified Operations Manager for our excavation and materials division.

Excavation division: Provides grading, underground utilities, and demolition services. We have Komatsu equipment with Topcon GPS.

Material division: BIR Materials specializes in providing high-quality construction materials and services. Our expertise encompasses selling several different sizes of aggregates, fill dirt, top soil, recycling construction materials, rock crushing, , and materials processing, with a strong focus on promoting sustainable and green practices.

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple excavation projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and timely completion
• Lead a team of operators to maximize productivity
• Manage project to ensure project is developed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions which include scheduling, engineering, material control, and provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
• Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending methods and equipment, etc., as required
• Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules
• Prepare complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success
• Negotiate and change orders as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of development, design and estimating

· 5 years of experience in excavation, utilities, site development, and water/sewer projects.

· Requires a comprehensive knowledge of excavation, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices

· Be comfortable working in the field and at a desk depending on project need.

· Be comfortable with technology and excited to implement new technology to improve productivity

· Experience developing a business for rapid growth

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team

· Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software

· Self-motivated and able to work independently

· High level of initiative to minimize downtime for the team

Preferred Skills:

· 4 Year Degree in Engineering

· Topcon GPS Experience

· Experience with AutoCad

· Estimating & Managing TDOT Project

· Experience operating heavy equipment
