Basic Job Functions:

A Production Planner will be responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the production process. The Production Planner will develop the detailed production schedules which define the timing of detailed tasks within the production process and need date for production materials to the production floor. The emphasize of planning will be on the delivery of production materials for the production process. The Production Planner will also maintain the flow of production schedule information during the production process.

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience of MRP experience is a mandatory requirement.
  • Complete understanding and application of MRP principles, concepts, practices and standards. (Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience a plus)

Education:

  • High School Diploma with appropriate experience; Bachelors or Associates Degree with appropriate experience preferred.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Perform planning and production tasks, anticipate program needs, and expedite material and tool requirements for production, manufacturing, and assembly operations.
  • Responsible for the coordination of production material flow from warehouse to the production floor in a timely manner and in support of the production schedule. Works closely with Procurement and Warehouse to ensure materials are ordered and delivered in a manner that supports the production schedule.
  • Responsible for developing, coordinating and communicating the daily production schedule including the creation and release of work orders.
  • Schedule production factoring in work orders, maintenance, inventory availability and capacity planning.
  • Strong interaction with assembly, purchasing, warehouse, quality engineering, and customer support.
  • Measure performance of all critical factors to ensure compliance to plans to include publishing of KPI’s.
  • Participate in resolving issues when products are behind schedule or at risk of being behind schedule.
  • Owns production orders from start to finish, recording time and output and troubleshooting any discrepancies immediately with a common goal of correcting the problems. Accurate and timely completion of production orders.
  • Maintain the ERP system integrity to drive material and production schedules and execute processes per requirements. Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing and management to provide timely status of work products and/or problem identification and resolution. Maintain ERP system parameters including material master data and performance criteria.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to resolve problems using established procedures and policies and common sense.
  • Ability to create solutions, procedures and policies while working with various departments.
  • Strong communication skills and effective at building relationships at all levels.
  • Prior experience in a small organization, demonstrating abilities with multiple objectives and multitasking efforts.
  • Energetic, motivated and goal oriented. Works well in a fast paced, team environment.
  • A focus on detail and accuracy in all efforts. Quick learner and resourceful.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a welding environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
  • Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 75 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to strand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
