We are looking for a Services Director to lead and evolve our national and local service operations across rigging, synthetics, inspection, testing, and electrical services.
This role will be responsible for building and scaling a matrixed organization that supports both scheduled and emergency field service needs while improving consistency, structure, and profitability. This position requires strong organizational leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to design and implement scalable systems that support our multi-regional operations and client bases.
This role will lead and develop a team of 4–10 direct and matrixed reports, including service managers and technicians across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and expand a cohesive service business strategy, including cost center structuring, staffing plans, and matrix accountability. Define the "future state" of service and drive operational transformation.
- Oversee all aspects of service delivery—including inspections, test bed operations, emergency field support, and maintenance—ensuring high performance and safety standards.
- Manage and own pricing, technician utilization, and bill rate optimization. Partner with finance to align revenue goals and track service-related KPIs.
- Own technician certification standards and training requirements. Ensure compliance with OSHA, overhead crane operations, nuclear, port, and mining certifications.
- Improve our ability to respond to client emergencies by implementing a structured, centralized technician dispatch system, even in dispersed or under-resourced markets.
- Move fluently in a matrix organizational structure between National Service and Regional Branch Service.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and executive teams to ensure service operations support broader business objectives and growth plans.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in industrial services, lifting/rigging, or similar technical fields
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or national service teams
- Strong operational acumen with a background in P&L ownership or cost center management
- Deep understanding of crane, electrical/mechanical service technologies, inspection/testing, and related safety standards
- Experience building or leading technician certification and training programs
- Exceptional planning, communication, and leadership skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA or NCCCO rigging/crane certification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting industrial sectors such as nuclear, mining, ports, or energy
- Familiarity with emergency field dispatch models and technician coverage planning
- Working knowledge of ERP, workforce management, or service dispatch platforms
