What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at BISHOP PAIUTE TRIBE DBA WANAAHA CASINO?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Works variable shifts as assigned by the Supervisor. Will greet and welcome customers assisting them in whatever way necessary to create goodwill and a friendly atmosphere. Able to work cash register, to clear and clean tables and maintain waitress checklist of daily duties. Applicant should be aware that the Paiute Palace Casino is not a smoke free environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Wait on customers in a friendly and quick manner. Clear, clean tables, chairs, and reset them properly. Maintain and keep filled waitress items such as ketchup, mustard, sugars, etc.
2. Waitress checklist completed daily after each shift. Keeps wait station clean. Keep beverages stocked and made.
3. An excellent appearance is dictated and demanded at all times. Must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly and courteous. Long hair must be worn back.
4. Must be able to work any shift including splits, evenings, weekends and holidays according to established procedures. Attend all mandatory facility in-service meetings. Poor attendance or a poor attitude will not be tolerated. Must be cooperative with all departments assisting wherever necessary.
5. Help keep casino neat and clean. During tours and while at duty station, employee will assist in enforcement of casino cleanliness policy by picking up trash and depositing it in receptacle and assisting in the cleanliness of the casino.
6. All other restaurant related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is required.
2. Must have 2 years previous experience as a server in a full service restaurant.
3. Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background security check. Can have no money related felony convictions within the past ten years. No records of money related criminal convictions of any kind in the past five years other than traffic violations.
4. Must be able to operate a cash register and handle-money.
5. Computer experience is preferred
6. Ability to inform and communicate with customers in diverse and challenging situations is required.
7. Must posses the ability to interact with the public and fellow employees demonstrating respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity, and maturity to develop an effective and cooperative working relationship.
8. Must be dependable, safety minded and must be literate.
9. Must have reliable transportation. Must have and maintain a home telephone for immediate contact.
10. Knowledge of and the ability to practice good hygiene food handling techniques required.
11. Must be 18 years of age or older and in good physical condition. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, must be able to lift and carry equipment, food and supplies weighing up to fifty pounds.
12. TB test is required prior to employment.
13. A drug test is required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
