Job Description : Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is a public entity that is an educational cooperative under the State of South Dakota.
BHSSC is comprised of five divisions dedicated to aiding school districts, individuals, and the communities. BHSSC is seeking outgoing individuals to join our team.

DSPs work with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing the support they need in daily life.
This may mean that people require support to communicate, eat, manage medications, maintain personal hygiene, use technology to stay in touch with family & friends, and so much more.
DSPs assist people to get out and participate in a variety of activities / community life, to experience new things and to pursue their own goals.
Job Summary
- Subs need for Days / evenings shift
The base pay is 14.50 per hour with a $3.00 an hour evening differential and $4.00 an hour differential for weekend shifts.
Full time staff working 40 hours per week receive full time benefits.
BHSSC is looking for 1 full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work awake-overnight hours in a residential setting in Sturgis.
Overnights work on a 2-2-3 night rotation, overnight staff have every other weekend off! The shift is 9pm to 8 or 9am. The base pay for overnight shift is 14.
50 per hour with a $4.00 an hour differential for all overnights shifts plus full time benefits.
Full time employees are eligible for an excellent benefit package, including individual health, dental and life insurance, PPL and participation in the SD Retirement System.
Employees pay approximately $20 per pay period for single benefits. Regularly scheduled part-time employees accrue PPL.
Salary : Wage is $14.50 per hour to $18.50 to start, depending on the shift, along with quarterly retention bonuses.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED,
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reference check
- Physical and drug screening
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
