What are the responsibilities and job description for the Affordable Housing Manager position at Blt Management LLC?
BLT is seeking an Affordable Housing Manager to join our team! This position leads all aspects of compliance with the affordability requirements of our Connecticut apartment portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Affordable Housing Manager:
- Oversee the administration of the affordable and income-restricted portion of BLT’s Connecticut multifamily portfolio
- Ensure full compliance with the Stamford Below Market Rate (BMR) and Norwalk Workforce Housing (WFH) programs.
- Create and manage waitlists for both Stamford and Norwalk portfolios
- Draft and execute leases and all necessary contract paperwork
- Available to meet prospects on site to complete property tours
- Ensure full occupancy is continuously maintained in affordable units
- Perform income certification and credit/criminal background checks for all prospective residents and schedule screening interviews
- Perform annual reporting and recertifications for existing residents
- Coordinate move in dates with property management team
Requirements of the Position of Affordable Housing Manager
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in affordable housing compliance
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous record keeping and organizational skills
- Applicant must be able to meet physical requirements to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting and presenting property
- Successful candidates should possess excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Must display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with residents, prospects, employees and outside contacts.
