Senior Web Administrator is the senior/lead level classification, in Sheriff Office Division, responsible for administrative and technical work in providing support and maintenance for the Sheriff Office web related activities.

New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month.

  1. Performs all phases of web administration including adherence to ADA Compliance requirements.
  2. Analyzes process, develops action plans and implements solutions
  3. Performs project management related to web activities and information flow processes
  4. Maintains documentation related to tasks
  5. Provides guidance and coordinates web content from many sources within the County and outside the County
  6. Administers WEB specific application security
  7. Plans and recommends web related software training
  8. Ensures proper and efficient operation of the Sheriff Web Site, maintaining consistent structure, content, graphics and links of all web pages
  9. Consults with management to determine content requirement and priorities
  10. Prepares feasibility analysis and develops recommended action plans
  11. Assists in the recommendation of hardware and software requirements for the future expansion of the web site
  12. Maintain records, logs, and files related to tasks
  13. Performs all phases of web administration for both internal and external SharePoint Online, Teams, and WordPress sites as well as documentation.
  14. Use Formstack to develop forms for internal and external sites.
  15. Responsibility for collecting, analyzing, and developing processes and action plans for WebEOC (site used to manage active Office of Disaster Management activations).   
  16. Maintains and provides applicable structure, content, graphics, and links to the Boulder Office of Disaster Management site (this site is an external site used by the community during activations and/or for disaster preparedness content).
  17. Responsible for recommending technology to streamline work processes.  For example, building a ticketing solution using Microsoft Forms, PowerAutomate, and SharePoint Online for our Communications, Radio Shop, and Records divisions for internal and external users.
  18. Assistance with imaging desktops, laptops, and mobile data computers for the Sheriff’s Office
  19. Participates and contributes to countywide web meetings 
  20. Part of the Sheriff Computer Support after-hours support to help triage after-hour tickets.  This requires weeklong assignment of 24/7 support for Sheriff Office tickets.
  21. Utilizes the County Ticketing system for tracking and managing tasks.
  22. Performs related work, as required
  23. May be reassigned in an emergency situation requiring extra work hours outside of normal scheduled hours.
Education & Experience:

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is looking for well-qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of 9 years of combined education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Internet related technologies and one or more database technologies
  • Thorough knowledge of Colorado's Digital Accessibility Law HB-21-1110, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. 
  • Thorough knowledge of document accessibility remediation using Adobe Acrobat Pro or CommonLook Accessibility software.
  • Thorough knowledge, understanding, and effective utilization of job-related information, technical skills and procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of problems
  • Ability to work well with staff, the public, and personnel in other departments or agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a way that results in cooperation, mutual respect and common benefit
Vision - Dual vision is not required. Single eye correctable vision is acceptable.  Minimum peripheral vision for single vision is 900 on the ear side and 700 on the nose side.  Frequently uses vision to read computer monitors, applications, reports, and files, and to observe multiple persons and activity. 

Hearing - Dual hearing is not required.  When tested by use of an audiometric device, does not have an average hearing loss in the better ear greater than 40 decibels at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without a hearing aid when the audiometric device is calibrated to American National Standard.  Constantly must be able to hear telephone conversations, conversations with applicants, professionals, and employees.  Occasionally must be able to hear alarms. 

Speech - must have the ability to fluently speak and understand the English language.  Constantly uses voice to communicate with other employees, professionals, and the public in person and by telephone.   Clear diction and audible volume is required.  

Body Movement- 

Arms and Hands - Constantly types on a keyboard and writes using writing tools such as pens, pencils and markers.  Frequently must have the use of at least one arm with the ability for extension above the head to reach for overhead files and supplies. 

Use of Legs and Lower Body - Must have the ability to move around the work area unassisted.  Occasionally must be able respond to persons at the front counter.     

Lifting - Occasionally must have the ability to move and lift storage boxes full of paper in the basement.  

Flexibility - Frequently must have the ability and range of flexibility to reach overhead, reach below knees, kneel, stand for long periods and work sitting for long periods.
