Maintenance & Repair Worker I (FMSC-2024-21904)
Bowhead seeks a Maintenance & Repair Worker, General I to join our team in Dahlgren, VA in support of our NSWC Dahlgren Facilities Maintenance Support contract. The Maintenance & Repair Worker, General I is responsible for general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. They require advanced skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work and will keep the Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
Responsibilities
- Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting.
- Performing simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests; operating and adjusting simple testequipment; records test data.
- Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performingcomputations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plotting data and draws simple curves and graphs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with a minimum of one (1) years' experience in Operations and Maintenance services supporting a military base or civilian installation.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Experience with and performance in a military or civilian workforce preferred.
- Emergency Management/Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) experience, preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently have a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
