Maintenance & Repair Worker IV (FMSC-2024-21906)
Bowhead seeks a Maintenance & Repair Worker, General IV to join our team in Dahlgren, VA in support of our NSWC Dahlgren Facilities Maintenance Support contract. The Maintenance & Repair Worker, General IV is responsible for general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. They require advanced skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work and will keep the Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
Responsibilities
- Developing or reviewing designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data, applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists. (Examples of designs include: detailed circuit diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts).
- Conducting tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures, preparing and operating equipment, recording data, measuring and recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level, and analyzes data and prepares test reports.
- Applying methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary and recording and evaluating data and reports findings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with a minimum of seven(7) years' experience in Operations and Maintenance services supporting a military base or civilian installation.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- A minimum of one (1) year of successful (related) experience and performance in a military or civilian workforce preferred.
- Emergency Management/Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) experience, preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently have a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
