Description
Primary Function: The Lead Teacher is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day onsite operations of the program.
Responsibilities:
BGCBC Culture
- Demonstrate and communicate the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton County (BGCBC) philosophy, objectives, standards and programs through all methods available to members, their parents, and the general public. Provide quality program activities that are inclusive, welcoming, respectful and responsive to the diversity of members, families and community.
- Participate in Pre-Employment Training.
- Work as a team with other staff members to ensure all members are well cared for and supervised at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation for DHS on site.
- Handle all monetary transitions.
- Serves as second in comment when the Site Supervisor is not on site.
- Attend staff meetings when the Site Supervisor is not available.
- Promote and stimulate interest and participation of all members in activities.
- Greet parents and/or care providers at drop-off and pick up each day. Remember that you are representing our program and act accordingly. Answer any questions they have or direct them to a supervisor.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of a daily programing that will meet the needs of the members in attendance; set up the program, project, and activity areas as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for members.
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings and on-going trainings.
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Ability to obtain at least 15 hours of training through the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) Professional Development Registry or Department of Education.
- A minimum of two years work experience in a Boys or Girls Club or similar organization
- Planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement recreational activities.
- Group leadership skills including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrate organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
Physical Requirements:
High energy level. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgement. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
