Position: Facilities Technician
General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician is responsible for the physical maintenance of BGCSM’s Clubhouses, Administrative Office and the organization’s vehicle fleet. Inspects and maintains building systems and provides hands-on facility services, including rough and finish carpentry, landscaping, basic plumbing and electrical work, cleaning and painting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, Oversight and Inspection
- Handle general repairs and emergencies.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Assist in moving furniture and equipment as necessary.
- Inspect the Clubhouses and/ or vehicle fleet on a regular basis and take vehicles in for repair and maintenance.
- Coordinates the use and check in/ check out processes for vehicle fleet.
- Perform a wide variety of maintenance duties including preventative, corrective, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance.
- Monitor building systems and alarms for proper operation and fire suppression testing.
- Assures safety issues are addressed and facilities are in compliance with all related polices and regulations.
- Supports club staff in addressing safety and facility issues.
Administrative Duties
- Process maintenance request through online ticketing system (Spiceworks) and keep a record of jobs completed.
- Maintain inventory list of equipment and tools.
- Ensure proper upkeep of all equipment.
- Assist in preparation of all safety audits and review, including preparation of needed documentation.
- Tracks and records information related to safety compliance and emergency preparedness.
Events
- Participate in preparing facilities for events, including set up and break down.
- Aid in event day logistics, as needed.
- Transport supplies.
Requirements
Education and/or Expertise:
- Previous maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of how commercial buildings function, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life & safety, roofing systems, etc.
Other Skills
- Effectively use a variety of hand/power tools.
- Perform a variety of physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Proficiency with Spiceworks or other management ticketing system.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Great teamwork skills.

Requirements

- Local travel is required.
- Must provide own vehicle, have a valid state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
