Brewer Morris is currently working with a boutique accounting and advisory firm in the Reno, NV area. Their team of 16 professionals serves a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, real estate developers, medical professionals, and small businesses. They pride themselves on delivering proactive, year-round support and insightful advice that empowers our clients to make informed financial decisions.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Client Accounting & Advisory Services Senior Associate with strong accounting skills to join our growing Family Office Services team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working closely with high-net-worth clients and their advisors to manage complex financial needs with discretion and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist team members with full-cycle accounting processes, including:
- Maintaining the general ledger
- Generating and posting journal entries in a timely manner
- Coordinating monthly close
- Maintaining budgets and reporting on budget-to-actuals
- Preparing monthly/quarterly financial statements with supporting workpapers
- Research and resolve issues or discrepancies with client accounts, bill payments, or invoices.
- Supervise and review the accounts payable function and Family Office staff members.
- Manage and reconcile multiple bank, brokerage, and credit card accounts.
- Perform reconciliations and analysis for balance sheet accounts, including inter-company accounts.
- Prepare year-end 1099 reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax packages and supporting documentation.
- Respond promptly to client requests and inquiries.
- Handle special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a family office setting.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledger accounting, and tax fundamentals.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, CCH) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive client information.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or family office clients (preferred).
- Familiarity with estate planning, investment reporting, and trust accounting (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 annually (Flexible)
- 401(k): Up to 4% employer match
- Profit Sharing: Discretionary, after 90 days
- Medical, Dental, Vision: 100% employer-covered after 30 days

Work Schedule
Busy Season: 50–60 hours/week
Non-Busy Season: 40 hours/week
