Position Summary
Bria of Alton is seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead our therapy department. This leadership role is open to licensed Physical Therapists (PT), Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA), Occupational Therapists (OT), Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), or Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) with a passion for rehabilitation and patient outcomes.
The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the rehab department, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring quality care, compliance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all therapy services (PT, OT, SLP) within the facility
- Supervise and mentor therapy staff, manage schedules, and conduct performance evaluations
- Monitor documentation and ensure regulatory and billing compliance (including Medicare and PDPM)
- Collaborate with nursing, admissions, and case management to support patient-centered goals
- Ensure consistent, high-quality therapeutic outcomes
- Maintain department productivity standards and participate in facility improvement initiatives
- Provide direct patient care as needed within licensure scope
Qualifications
- Active Illinois license in PT, PTA, OT, COTA, or SLP
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a skilled nursing or subacute rehab setting
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of PDPM, MDS, and therapy documentation systems
- Excellent communication, organization, and team leadership skills
