Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Scheduling Supervisor, the Home Health Staffing Scheduler (HHSS) serves in a key role focused on client service functions such as skilled care resource coordination, scheduling, staffing, field communication, and relationship building as appropriate with referral sources. The HHSS is a highly visible team member that partners closely with Clinical Leadership Team on the skilled care delivery of services. The HHSS also serves as back up to the HHSS responsible for personal assistance services.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Input of new clients into the BrightStar proprietary database
  • Scheduling and staffing for all patients
  • Tracking and monitoring of pending referrals and start of care
  • Receives and responds to inbound client, family member, and field team call inquiries
  • Collects and reviews client needs to support on-going and new scheduling requirements, leverages clinical skillset and scheduling database for support
  • Provides exceptional client service for internal and external clients; resolves requests in a timely and accurate manner; escalates issues following defined standard operating procedures
  • Responds to call client calls in an empathetic and supportive manner
  • Required to be on rotation to cover weekend and weeknight after hours on call (additional compensation is paid for on-call)
  • Promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a client's care by adhering to quality standards
  • Treat clients, staff, and the public with courtesy, respect and present a positive public image
  • Develops and builds on-going rapport with BrightStar office and field teams

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience as highlighted below
  • Home Health scheduling experience required
  • Comfortable speaking with referral sources and client management
  • Ability to de-escalate issues
  • Previous experience in a fast paced, high call volume environment
  • Superior client service skills, both telephone and in person
  • Must be comfortable in handling complex scheduling demand and excel at multi-tasking
  • Inside sales experience a plus
  • Previous health care scheduling experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in operating web-based systems, MS Outlook, MS Word, and Excel
  • Covid-19 vaccinated (provide proof when requested)

  • Office Environment: high-paced office environment; continuous phone use/ringing; talking; various noise levels; interactions with employees and clients; sitting and standing for long periods of time; bending and stooping required; lifting up to 10 lbs.

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
