The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for the creation and management of the assigned product category. This person will be charged with understanding the category assigned; both hardgoods and apparel. They will drive the agreed upon product strategy and work cross functionally with other functional areas to execute the product plan. The Merchandising Manager will communicate the strategy and assure timelines are met. They will be the key product contact with the appropriate product manufacture. This person will also coordinate with forecasting and planning to secure the right product during the selling season. They will also drive the creation and management of any rebate programs in conjunction with finance. The Merchandising Manager will also lead appropriate product teams to execute these objectives.
This is a hybrid position based out of our HQ in Farmers Branch, TX

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the overall management of assigned category.
- Management of the category development calendar.
- Responsible for category management; style management, pricing, margin and profitability.
- Responsible for category competitive analysis.
- Work cross functionally to establish category priorities.
- Collaborate with vendors on category needs, cost needs, programs, service levels and technology issues.
- Consumer insights and trends
- Responsible for identifying and communicating the category assortment for the season
- Provide information for style and system set up
- Provide category / style / pricing information for all marketing materials
- Work cross functionally on sales sample needs.
- Work with Planning/Forecasting on product needs and trends
- Present category at select sales events
- Work with DC Planning and Forecasting team to ensure products to be stocked are in the correct location. Responsible to make sure their team hits booking dates on future orders.
- Ensure all stocked items have been approved for decoration
- At least 3-5 years in product merchandising or comparable years of experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Project management/communication experience
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Creativity with an eye for detail and technical savvy
- Bachelor's degree
