About the Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services Team
Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services is a highly specialized, organized team of chief financial officers, controllers, senior accountants, and bookkeeping specialists with years of experience working with small to mid-sized organizations, for-profit and non-profit.

About the Client Accounting & Projects Manager Role
The Client Accounting & Projects Manager supports the Outsourcing Accounting & Advisory practice by leading managed services assessments, client implementations, and complex projects that enhance client experience. This role partners with leadership and operations teams to execute the firm’s three-phased delivery model and serves as a subject matter expert in the firm’s preferred technology stack. Through strong project management and strategic oversight, the manager drives operational efficiency, system optimization, and high-quality financial reporting outcomes for clients.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Support and execute the vision and strategic initiatives of the Outsourcing Accounting & Advisory leadership team for the Business Advisory and Projects function.
· Serve as project manager supporting governance committees, including Client Relationship, Service & Delivery, and Technology.
· Partner with the Outsourced Business Advisory & Projects Team Leader to lead project management activities across the firm’s three-phased delivery model (Assessment, Implementation, and Managed Services), ensuring smooth transitions from project work to ongoing managed services.
· Lead and support complex client advisory and ad hoc strategic projects, including managed services assessments and implementations.
· Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, internal controls, operational efficiencies, client training, and reporting through innovative use of technology platforms.
· Support the development and execution of financial models, business plans, and forecasting tools for clients engaged in exit planning, acquisitions, or long-term strategic initiatives.
· Oversee day-to-day client financial operations, ensuring accurate, timely processing and real-time financial reporting.
· Apply audit-based methodologies to the month-end close process and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations supported by appropriate documentation and subledger detail.
· Perform analytical reviews of general ledger activity to identify missing transactions, trends, and anomalies on a monthly and annual basis.
· Ensure all compliance and regulatory reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
· Serve as a primary point of contact for client leadership teams and Boards, providing clear, timely, and professional communication.
· Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for clients.
· Lead annual audit coordination and tax return preparation processes.
· Assist with supervising, mentoring, and developing project accounting team members, supporting performance, growth, and engagement.
To be successful in this role, you will bring with you:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to client sites as needed.
· 7 years of progressive experience in outsourced accounting, advisory, or public accounting roles managing complex client engagements.
· Experience with cloud-based accounting solutions and integrated technology platforms, such as QBO, Sage Intacct, Fund Ez, Net Suite, Workday etc. (implementation experience).
· Hands-on experience leading client assessments, implementations, and managed services transitions, including ownership of scope, timelines, and deliverables.
· Extensive experience with AP, AR and payroll management
· Direct experience working with executive leadership and Boards, providing financial reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations.
· Experience with forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management
· Proven experience overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, audits, and tax preparation with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
· Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting or advisory professionals in a team-based environment.
· Proficient knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
· Strong understanding of internal controls and financial processes
· Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Products (Outlook, Teams, Planner, etc.)
· Ability to prepare financial statements on an accrual basis
· Ability to analyze report variances and issues with financial statements
